The Sitka Cycling Club’s monthly bike ride for July takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

Cyclists should meet at the Sitka Farmers Market, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Founders Hall (235 Katlian Street). Cyclists will pedal about eight miles to the Blue Lake rest area, take a break, then ride back downtown for a 16-mile round trip.

The Sitka Local Foods Network farm stand at the Sitka Farmers Market is a new member of the Bicycle Benefits program, so people who ride their bikes to the market and show their Bicycle Benefits helmet stickers at the SLFN farm stand receive a 20 percent discount on fresh, local produce.

For more information, contact Doug Osborne at 747-0373 or sign up for the Sitka Cycling Club’s monthly newsletter.
